<a href="https://metalflowapi.com/gold-price-api/eur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prices by MetalflowAPI</a>Why jewelers show a live gold price
Customers who buy or sell gold check the market price before they visit a shop. Showing the same live number on your own website builds trust, explains why prices change and keeps visitors on your page instead of sending them to a search engine. For gold buyers it turns a vague "what is it worth?" into a concrete figure that makes people pick up the phone.
Per-karat prices for the grades you sell
Turn on the compare line and the widget shows the gram price for 24k, 22k, 18k and 14k directly below the spot price. Choose the calculator style if you buy scrap gold: visitors enter a weight and karat and see an estimated melt value. Both update automatically every five minutes.
Install on WordPress, Shopify or any site
Copy the iframe or script code from the builder. On WordPress paste it into a Custom HTML block (see the WordPress gold price widget guide); on Shopify use a Custom Liquid section; on Wix an Embed HTML element. The widget is a few kilobytes, uses lazy loading for the iframe variant. Reserve space and measure the finished page on mobile.
How the EUR gold price per gram is calculated
Gold is quoted per troy ounce, which weighs exactly 31.1034768 grams. Right now one troy ounce of fine gold costs €3,668, so dividing by 31.1034768 gives €117.92 per gram of pure gold. A kilogram bar is simply the gram price times 1,000, about €117,924. MetalflowAPI quotes EUR directly, so no currency conversion is applied.
Gold price per gram by karat in EUR
Jewellery is rarely pure. The karat number tells you how many parts out of 24 are gold, and the hallmark says the same in thousandths. To price a piece, multiply the pure gold gram price by the purity factor:
| Purity | Factor | Per gram (EUR) |
|---|---|---|
| 24k (999) | 0.999 | €117.81 |
| 22k (916) | 0.916 | €108.02 |
| 21k (875) | 0.875 | €103.18 |
| 18k (750) | 0.750 | €88.44 |
| 14k (585) | 0.585 | €68.99 |
| 10k (417) | 0.417 | €49.17 |
| 9k (375) | 0.375 | €44.22 |
Worked examples with today's price
- A 5 g 18k wedding band contains 5 × 0.750 = 3.75 g of fine gold, worth about €442.21.
- A 20 g 14k chain contains 11.7 g of fine gold, worth about €1,380.
- A 10 g 9k bracelet holds 3.75 g of fine gold, about €442.21.
- A 1 oz 24k bullion coin is worth about €3,668 before dealer premiums.
Tips before you buy or sell gold
- Weigh pieces on a gram scale and subtract stones, springs and clasps made of other metals; they add weight but no gold value.
- Check the hallmark (375, 417, 585, 750, 916, 999). Unmarked items are usually acid- or XRF-tested before a buyer makes an offer.
- Dealers pay less than the melt value shown here, because the offer has to cover refining, assaying and their margin. Compare several quotes.
- The market moves all day: note the update time on the widget and re-check before you visit a shop or accept an offer.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the gold price widget for jewelers free?
- Yes. It is free for commercial use; each widget includes a small 'Prices by MetalflowAPI' attribution link.
- Can the widget show 18k and 14k prices?
- Yes. Turn on the compare line to show per-gram prices for 24k, 22k, 18k and 14k, or use the calculator style so customers can value their own pieces.
- Can I match my shop's brand colours?
- Yes. Choose a light or dark theme, any accent colour and three sizes; the widget has a transparent background so it blends into your site.
- Will it work on Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix?
- Yes. Paste the iframe or script code into any HTML, Custom Liquid or embed block. On WordPress use a Custom HTML block.
- Does the widget set cookies?
- No. It loads no cookies, fonts, analytics or trackers, so it does not affect your cookie banner.
- How is the gold price per gram calculated?
- The live price per troy ounce is divided by 31.1034768, the number of grams in one troy ounce. The kilogram price is the gram price multiplied by 1,000.
- How do I work out the value of 18k or 14k gold?
- Multiply the weight in grams by the 24k price per gram and by the purity factor: 0.750 for 18k, 0.585 for 14k and 0.375 for 9k. The scrap gold calculator does this for you.
- Is the price shown what a dealer will pay me?
- No. It is the market value of the pure gold content. Dealers and scrap buyers pay less because their offer has to cover refining, assaying and their margin, so compare several quotes.
